"Glow River", Ceramic Sculpture, Mood Lamp

Welcome Patrons;

Throwing pottery on the wheel is a way for me to create a vessel that I can do whatever I want to it. Knowing I'm going to turn this into a mood lamp adds some potential features to consider when shaping and carving the pottery now becoming a ceramic sculpture !  ! There will be a light inside so need to make a hole for plug and light fixture (UL) approved. With a light inside it will cast shadows in your room, so I take into design how I will make the edges of the art piece to create dramatic shadows across the room = "Mood Lamp"

Next we create the wood base from an interesting grainy cedar slab, and shape it to enhance the shape of lamp, taking a torch to burn the grain emphasizes the texture of the cedar wood.

Installing the ceramic sculpture ( unpainted) on the wood base, we drill the hole for the mounting fixtures, and bolt everything down snug, extension cord and electrical plug tested ! ! !

Now we are ready to paint it, outside and inside = this is where I detail what I sculpted in 3D and add 2D paint to capture the textures of the sculpture and turn it into a 3D Landscape painting ! ! !,..... You are witnessing a whole New Genre of Art = 3D Landscape Art ! ! !

Next we add agate stones and odd shaped steel remnants-

2 interesting stories about these materials - Agate stones are all around the SW desert, theres awesome mesa tops with millions, but you will never notice them till you go for a walk in the rain, thats when they loose the dull drabness and POP with gem glow qualitys, every color and texture,... its amazing, load up your pockets till your pants fall down ! ! !,..... The metal scraps are all the throw away cutouts from welding businesses = all their junk, weird cutouts, make interesting additions to an Art pc,... "Groooovy Maan" ! ! !
